In 2012 Mayor Thomas M. Menino issued a proclamation that established the second Sunday in June annually as Race Amity Day in the City of Boston. This year Governor Deval Patrick has issued a proclamation that this same day shall be Race Amity Day throughout the Commonwealth. This is a day for all people across racial and cultural communities to gather together to celebrate and show appreciation for our diverse racial and cultural backgrounds.
