Care Dimensions recognizes local citizens for their commitment to veterans

October 20, 2015 — Care Dimensions is pleased to announce that their North Shore We Honor Veterans Award Recipients for 2015 are Kristine Babcock of Danvers and Jacob Burridge of Ipswich. Honorable mentions are also being given to John Crowley of Marblehead, John Doherty of Andover, Rose Mazzuchelli of Winthrop and Myron Stone of Swampscott. These individuals were nominated by members of the community for their commitment to improving the lives of veterans. All recipients will be honored at an awards breakfast on November 10, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Danversport Yacht Club, 161 Elliott Street in Danvers. The breakfast is generously sponsored by East Boston Savings Bank and the bank’s President Richard Gavegnano will offer opening remarks.

As a Level Four Partner of the We Honor Veterans program, Care Dimensions has joined together with the U.S. Department of the Veterans’ Affairs and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization to empower hospice professionals to meet the unique needs of dying Veterans. The program teaches respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgement – to comfort patients with a history of military service and possibly physical or psychological trauma.

“Care Dimensions is dedicated to promoting and providing the highest quality end-of-life care for our Veterans and to educating community organizations who also provide services for Veterans,” said Sheryl Meehan, director of volunteer services and chair of the Veterans committee at Care Dimensions. To register for the breakfast, please contact Mark Ledewitz, Care Dimensions Volunteer Coordinator by November 3 at 978-750-9338 or MLedewitz@CareDimensions.org.
